07 Jan If You Read Just One Book This Year…
As an entrepreneur and small business owner, I find my emotions can send me daily on a wicked roller coaster ride—from really high inclines to a high speed, the world-is-coming-to-an-end free fall drop. And that’s just before lunch. So I’m really learning how my attitude and outlook can positively impact my perception in any situation. The reality is that we all have good days and bad days, whether you own a business or work part time at a fast food restaurant. But have you considered how much your attitude affects your mood and those around you?
A good friend of mine recommended The Energy Bus to me, maybe because he knows I really need to grow in this area and this was a subtle way to say “You need this book.” I’m kidding, but it would be true. I don’t think I’m alone though. The energy we emit, both positive and negative, has a huge impact on our environment, our business, team members, family, etc. So often we find ourselves in a reactive position, whereby we respond to things that happen to us rather than proactively choosing to be positive and thankful, regardless of the situation. The Energy Bus, by Jon Gordon, has and is helping me to be proactive in thinking about my attitude, right from the moment I wake up. It’s a great book to read, regardless of your status, job, role, age. I think it’s a must read for those in leadership.
So, if you’re going to read one book this year, consider The Energy Bus. You’ll be glad you did.
What about you? What is one book that you’d recommend others read in 2016? Let me know!
